Anthony William, M.S.

Graduate Student

Tony Williams is a Ph.D. student in Earth System Science at Auburn University and an interdisciplinary scientist with a background that spans meteorology, space weather, and emerging research in geocognition. Before entering academia, he spent a decade as a co-owner of a small family business in the automotive industry, an experience that provides a distinctive and practical perspective to his interdisciplinary research. He holds a Bachelor of Science in meteorology, a Master of Science in integrated scientific applications with a concentration in weather intelligence and risk management, and a graduate certificate in space weather and environment: science, communication, and policy.

Tony’s research focuses on the use of interdisciplinary methods to enhance science literacy and connect diverse audiences, including academia, public audiences, and industry. His current work explores geocognition techniques to make complex scientific topics more accessible and actionable, bridging gaps between research, policy, and societal applications.

As a first-generation college graduate, Tony is dedicated to fostering collaboration across disciplines and advancing public understanding of the Earth system. He brings a distinctive perspective to his research, drawing on both his academic training and his diverse professional background to develop innovative solutions to scientific challenges.
